Description
Summary:As part of urban transportation, walking plays an important role in promoting the development of urban green transportation systems. Through the analysis of resident travel preference and the influence factors on travel choice of land use and related effects, this paper puts forward the walking accessibility, pedestrian route directness (PRD), street walking popularity and the ratio of green interface as a quantitative index of the measurement system of pedestrian friendliness, to evaluate the effect of land use and urban space on the residents’ walking. Based on this, this paper takes Nanjing Hexi District as an example, using ArcGIS software to quantify the city residents’ travel purpose. Two-dimensional space characteristic analysis verifies that the high density and high degree of mixing, high accessibility blocks with good street environmental quality and open environment on the pedestrian block has a good role in promoting walking, and then puts forward optimization suggestions to promote the pedestrian friendliness in Hexi District.
