Liposomal NAD+ prevents diminished O2 consumption by immunostimulated Caco-2 cells

Research results are consistent with the view that enterocytes exposed to proinflammatory cytokines consume less oxygen due to NAD+/NADH depletion secondary to activation of the nuclear enzyme poly-(ADP-ribose) polymerase by ONOO- or other oxidants.
