Summary:Using a facile solution-evaporation method, we controllably fabricated DPEpe–F 4 DIB single-crystalline microrods and microtubes by tuning the solvent-system. Due to the thin tubular wall acting as an annular cavity, the organic microtubes demonstrated a lower optical loss of 0.0145 dB μm −1 , and are promising building blocks for various optoelectronic devices.
