Summary:This paper addresses the implementation of dis tributed, on-line simulation experiments with the World Wide Web. The paper first provides a basic overview of the on-line simulation ap proach. Next, we discuss the system that was considered in this study. The paper then de scribes the distributed object computing environ ment that has been employed in the study, including the specialized displays that can be accessed by a remote participant using the ser vices of the Web. Finally, directions for future research are outlined.
