Summary: | Extract: The present study develops an econometric model for efficacy of inspection in reducing fatalities and injuries using cross-sectional data for the year 1979. The study accounts for the effects of various socio-economic and driving-related variables along with the effect of inspection. A benefit/cost analysis is then conducted using New Jersey as the reference state and 1981 as the reference year so results may be compared to those reported by Loeb and Gilad. |
