Summary: | This article describes the development of a brush turbine with an axial configuration of ram elements. These elements are spirally arranged on the rotor disc. Brush turbines are preferably used as a steam or gas turbines of small power, often operate as a rotary steam reduction. The working medium is supplied at supersonic velocity tangentially to the rotor. Here, the transfer of kinetic energy is realized and thus, the rotor is rotated. The reactive area is a part of a rotor fitted with ram elements – brushes. The brushes can be fitted on the rotor radially or axially. The proposal for the optimal geometry of the turbine with axial ram elements, turbine construction and the verification of operating parameters were the aim of the research. |
