Description
Summary:The gap between power generated and demand is widening mainly due to high growth of economics in many countries. The domains of hybrid micro-grids and solar photovoltaic system acting as ancillary source and novel approach for extracting maximum power from the panels, assume greater significance. Power electronic converters and inverters form the promising interface between grid and renewable source, and any advancements in these arena will boost the performance of the grid operation. Power system engineering is currently experiencing a significant shift of interest, away from large interconnection towards HV/LV distribution and load. This can enhance the research focus in the "Smart Grid" paradigm shift focused on distributed energy resources, storage systems, distribution automation, and demand-side management.
