Summary: | The consequences of 50 MeV Li3+ ions irradiation on the structural behaviour of polycrystalline samples of spinel ferrite system Li0.5(1+x)TixAl0.1Fe2.4-1.5xO4 are investigated by using infrared absorption spectroscopy. The IR spectrum showed two main absorption bands ν1 and ν2 in the range 400-700 cm−1 arising from tetrahedral and octahedral interstitial sites in the spinel lattice. The shifting and splitting observed in IR frequency bands ν1 and ν2 for tetrahedral and octahedral sites under irradiation effect are ascribed to redistribution of cations. |
