Summary:The following work is devoted to the analysis of thermal properties of a multilayered pipe wall depending on the ratio of thickness between the base and insulating layers. The solution of a problem consisting of heat propagation in a inhomogeneous medium has shown that thermal insulating properties of polyethylene foam depend on its porosity. The heat conduction problem is solved by means of finite element method in a program designed by the group of authors and also in the software, ANSYS.
