Summary: | This study provides a physical insight into binding conditions (BCs) for nonlinear ultrasonic generation considering both propagating waves and stationary vibrations. First, the BCs are theoretically formulated for both propagating waves and stationary vibrations. Then, the BCs are experimentally validated with a special focus on nonlinear modulation. Finally, the advantages and disadvantages for using propagating waves or stationary vibrations are discussed. |
