Description
Summary:The overall objective was to understand how the formation of the social entrepreneur can affect the generation of social innovations. To this end, we conducted a qualitative study based on the life history narratives of the finalists and winners of the Social Entrepreneur Award. The results demonstrated that the formation of the social entrepreneur is linked to the spaces and contexts of learning, the trajectory of social leadership and motivation for social entrepreneurship, these categories being filled simultaneously by formal and non-formal education, which, when integrated, culminate in social innovation. It was possible to conclude that, as social entrepreneurs renew their trajectories of leadership through new social projects, emerge new contexts and learning spaces, oftentimes collective and informal, renewing the motivations for social entrepreneurship. Concomitant to the formation of the entrepreneur there is, therefore, a social collective value that was generated from the development of social innovations.
