Summary:This corrigendum and addendum is written to correct the statement and proof of the main result of El Kinani et al. (Rend Circ Mat Palermo 56(2):185–197, 2007 ). We add Proposition  2.1 which states that every locally m -convex probilateral algebra is actually normal. Thus, in all results of El Kinani et al. (Rend Circ Mat Palermo 56(2):185–197, 2007 ), where the algebras considered are bilateral, the normality hypothesis is redundant.
