Summary: | Aims: Bone metastases are detected in one-half of metastatic cancer patients. Pain, the major symptom in patients with bone metastasis, begins suddenly, is not relieved by resting, and worsens rapidly. The purpose of this study was to assess pain and performance status of radiotherapy cancer patients with bone metastasis. Methods: This descriptive study was conducted in the radiation oncology service of a hospital between 30 November 2015 and 20 January 2016. Study data were collected using the Introductory Identification Questionnaire with a face-to-face interview method. For pain and performance assessment, The Visual Analog Scale (VAS) and Eastern Cooperative Oncology Group Performance Score (ECOG PS) forms were administered before radiotherapy (Time 1), at the middle of radiotherapy (Time 2), and after radiotherapy (Time 3).
