Description
Summary:This paper summarises the evolution of BT's Personal Agent Framework (PAF) and its information management services into a Knowledge Browser (TM) component of a commercial eCommunity platform. Following upgrades to its software architecture, system trials, and international collaboration and venturing efforts, the PAF project culminated in a commercial agreement with Teamware Group. The personal assistants from PAF and Fujitsu's OAM were integrated into Pl@za, an eCommunity solutions product. The Knowledge Browser add-on component currently offers agent-based information management services to an enterprise, special interest groups, or a loosely connected community of distributed users.
