Summary: | Grain structure and substructure of a nanocrystalline Ti–50.9 at. % Ni alloy was investigated using the transmission electron microscopy. The regularities of recovery and recrystallization processes of the alloy structure after annealing at 500°C are revealed. It is shown that the subgrain structure inhibits recrystallization due to the presence of Ti3Ni4 coherent particles at the subgrain boundaries. The coalescence of subgrains is a main mechanism of recrystallization in a substructure. A relationship between recovery and recrystallization and the dissolution and coagulation of Ti3Ni4 particles was found. |
