Summary: | Khan et al present a case of a 37-year-old white Caucasian gravida, who had an acute choriamnionitis in labor and a severe anaphylactic reaction to intravenous ceftriaxone. Because of such reaction, the patient was resuscitated by the obstetric and anesthetic teams, who made an immediate presumptive diagnosis of antibiotic-related anaphylaxis. Hence, supportive measures were given, where the patient was secured with oxygen and intravenous fluids and vasoactive medications. |
