Summary:[...] some concrete examples follow: incorporate service-learning as part of the requirements of virtually all professional courses, including assisting in teaching and/or mentoring in various activity and lab courses; serving as a mentor or tutor for students at school and/or at college/university levels; and serving at the Red Cross, YM/WCAs, hospitals, clinics, rehabilitation facilities, senior centers, fitness centers, Junior Olympics, Special Olympics, Senior Olympics, different community sports programs, dance recitals, fundraising activities, and special events. Other examples include working in children's physical development clinics, such as the one at Bridgewater (MA) State College, and on many other campuses across the country; organizing and conducting programs such as wheelchair basketball tournaments, or fishing tournaments for individuals with disabilities- the sky is the limit.
