Summary:We investigate the impact of electron-beam irradiation (doses of 3–18 kGy) on polyamide/polyethylene (thickness of 80 μm), a multilayer polymer film material. Irradiation is performed on a compact unit for radiation sterilization with local bioprotection. We study the changes in the physicomechanical properties and barrier characteristics of the polymer material that may have a negative impact on the shelf life of packaged agricultural produce.
