Summary:First, the question of authority is related to authenticity by regarding questions of religious identity and membership in Muslim organizations. second, authority and autonomy are related to religiosity in the sense of ways of believing in action.3 While it is argued that converts themselves cannot be qualified as "authentically Muslim," and are attracted to Islam as an authoritative tradition, their belief is informed by individuality and autonomy, features that characterize general forms of modern religiosity in Western Europe.
