Summary: | Social security in the South will here be considered from three aspects. First, so far as possible, the public welfare provisions in force in 1932 are described. Then the provisions of the various laws now in force are analyzed; and finally some problems involved in the spread of social security in the South are presented. The South is Odum's classification which includes Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, and Virginia. |
