Summary: | The Czech Republic became a member of the OECD in December 1995, Hungary in May 1996, Poland in November 1996 and Korea in December 1996. For all 4 countries, joining the OECD meant undertaking substantial liberalization commitments, under the OECD instruments, in foreign direct investment, international capital movements and services. These commitments will foster modernization of their economies and the maintenance of sound macroeconomic policies and market-oriented structural reforms. |
