Highly water-repellent magnetite/polyacrylate esters nano-composites powder for highly removing waste oil

A sustainable pollution of oil is a great harmful to the environment. The hydrophilic magnetite nano-particles were coated with hydrophobic polymers such as polybutylacrylate, polyhexylacrylate, polydecylacrylate, polydodecylacrylate or polyethylcyanoacrylate with different concentrations. description A sustainable pollution of oil is a great harmful to the environment. The hydrophilic magnetite nano-particles were coated with hydrophobic polymers such as polybutylacrylate, polyhexylacrylate, polydecylacrylate, polydodecylacrylate or polyethylcyanoacrylate with different concentrations. M/PDeA 12% has the highest removing efficiency (RE) than another, it was reused over seven cycles with gradually decreasing in the efficiency, it had the maximum oil adsorption capacity 10.4 g/g and low rate of settling down. The RE was enhanced by reducing temperature, increasing the chain of the polymers and its concentrations. Additionally, the adsorption process was affected by reducing the pH value of oil.
