Summary: | Today foreign direct investment is one of the most important tools that allow countries to make progress in the economic development processes and to integrate with the world economy. Countries that can correctly construe the advantages offered by the globalization process are looking for a way to make their national markets attractive for foreign investors. Turkey is also one of the countries that make efforts in this regard. The fact that Turkey was declared to be a candidate country to the EU in 2005 encouraged foreign direct investments to tend towards Turkey. However the fact that Turkey has been exposed to internal and external political developments in the last decade negatively affected the amount of financial resources coming to Turkey through foreign direct investment. |
