Summary: | The main objective of the system described in this paper is to provide a mechanism with which designers can select a suitable processor for embedded systems design efficiently. To achieve this, we first extract the characteristics of the application using a Keil Integrated Development Environment. The database of the processors is dynamically normalized using the application parameters. The extracted parameters are also translated to the characteristics of the processor specifications. Two standard algorithms - weighted sum algorithm and Kepner-Tregoe method - are used to rank the processors in terms of their suitability. A comparative study of the two algorithms is also made. |
