Summary: | Service standard agreements can nowadays be fitted into the context of an increased general concern over matters of professional activity and accountability. Areas of archive service provision are increasingly being reviewed and in some instances 'internal service standards' have been drawn up and applied which may be defined as voluntary standards devised and implemented to serve the internal requirements of the office or organisation. This article, based on a paper given at the Society's conference in Jersey in October 2002, examines the issue of relationships with our depositors and the issue of service standards in relation to that relationship. |
