Summary:This article contextualizes Distance Education (DE) in Brazil, highlighting its historical evolution the pedagogical process in the different phases and scenario that the DE is inserted. [...]when we mentioned the different elements involved in evaluating the DE, the following are highlighted: teacher-tutor, supervisor in communication and the aid of student learning, and the trajectory of these actors with DE, ratify the need and preference by establishing links that demonstrate commitment among peers, for the sake of a common goal. In this way, the obtained result projects that the profesor-tutor of the DE as well as the other actors, must contemplate competences, abilities and attitudes in the process of mediation of coherent learning and that it values the potentialities of the DE students in order to integrate them in the new platforms offered by the DE currently, aiming to broaden the interaction of the students in relation to the multiple tools made available by the academic virtual learning environments.
