Description
Summary:Zinc adipate dihydrate crystals were grown by single gel diffusion technique and its structure was identified as monoclinic. Presence of water molecules, different functional groups and metal–metal bonding in the crystal were confirmed by FT-IR and micro Raman spectroscopy. The thermo gravimetric analysis supported the suggested chemical formula of the grown crystal to be Zn(C6H8O4).2H2O and the thermal stability material up to 387°C. UV–visible absorption measurement of the sample was carried out and optical band gap of the material was calculated as 5.66 eV. Variation of dielectric constant of the crystal with a frequency of the applied field at room temperature was also studied.
