Summary: | In 409 of US drone attacks in Pakistan's tribal area starting in 2004, more than three thousand militants have been killed. However, hundreds and thousands of civilians were also put down in such attacks. This drone warfare has affected not only the flora and fana of the area but the residents have formed a draconian perception of the drones as well. This study looks into the perception of the residents of North Waziristan on the impacts of drone attacks on the economic activities, education and health of the people. The study was quantitative, and a survey questionnaire was used as the tool for data collection. The questionnaire was distributed amongst 50 local residents of North Waziristan in the Temporary Displaced Persons (TDPs) camp inside district Bannu. Majority of respondents revealed that drone attacks have created a kind of hysterical consequences on their lifestyle. Economic activities have lowered, educational infrastructure has been shattered, and numerous health problems have emerged amongst the residents of North Waziristan. |
