Description
Summary:Cardiac arrhythmias still are among the major causes of morbidity and death around the world and in Mexico too. Reentry is one of the most prevalent tachycardia. Anatomical reentry strongly depends on the surrounding tissue characteristics, in this paper, we use a previously tested in vitro reentry model from embryonic ventricular cardiomyocytes to analyze the recovery effect of hypothermia. We found that mild and moderate hypothermia, induce changes in intracellular calcium activity along the cardiomyocytes cell ring evolving from a sustained reentry to a stable pacemaker. Recurrent plots are very sensitive to reveal swift local transitions occurring precisely before the tachycardia extinction.
