Summary: | Pharmaceutical Electrochemistry. The electrochemical dehalogenation represents a powerful and sustainable tool for the synthesis of pharmaceutically relevant cyclopropane building blocks in excellent yield. The key to the conversion is the leaded bronze cathode instead of traditional lead. This novel cathode material is less prone to corrosion and provides highly pure product. Thereby, contamination by heavy metal traces is tremendously reduced. Furthermore, by slightly switching the electrolysis conditions, selective mono‐ or twofold dehalogenation is achieved.
