Description
Summary:Self‐Assembly The synthesis of NiII‐‐salen complexes (salen=N,N′‐ethylenebis(salicylimine)) with several diamine bridges and a hydrogen or tert‐butyl group at the 6‐position of the phenol ring is reported. In addition, all ligands were functionalized with benzoic groups at the para‐position of the phenol ring. Scanning tunneling microscopy reveals that three different two‐dimensional nanoarchitectures can be engineered at the solid‐‐liquid interface by using these molecular building blocks.
