Summary:The twenty-first century has experienced a change in where people are dying. The end of life for people with cancer is moving out of the hospital. More people are dying with hospice care at home or in a nursing facility. This trend is associated with a greater awareness of the effect of end-of-life care on the quality of life and the costs of care.
