Description
Summary:— The method of distribution of di-(2-ethylhexyl)phosphoric acid between dodecane, isooctane, hexane, and five-molar hydrochloric acid is studied to remove the acid from the yttrium-90 back-extract to the fullest extent possible. The additional washing of the back-extract with these solvents was suggested, and, for this purpose, a special single-stage centrifugal extractor with a mobil light phase was developed. The amount of yttrium-90 in the final product was determined by the electrolytic method. The extraction-spectrophotometric method was used to evaluate low concentrations of di-(2-ethylhexyl)phosphoric acid in an aqueous phase.
