Description
Summary:An efficient organic nonlinear optical single crystal of ethylenediamine ditartrate dihydrate (EDADTDH) was grown by slow evaporation solution growth technique (SEST) at ambient condition using deionized water as solvent. The X-ray diffraction analysis was carried out to confirm the cell parameters, crystalline nature and structural perfection of EDADTDH crystal. Surface feature of grown crystal was analyzed through AFM analysis. Optical behaviour was determined using UV–Vis-NIR transmittance study. The blue emission of the crystal was identified by photoluminescence and CIE studies. The SHG efficiency was found using Kurtz-Perry powder technique. The power density value for the grown crystal was determined using laser damage threshold. Thermal behaviour was investigated by TG–DTA analyses. Mechanical stability of the crystal was analysed using Vickers microhardness measurement. The dielectric behaviour was established through dielectric study. Electromechanical behaviour was observed using piezoelectric coefficient analysis.
