Summary: | This paper addresses the definition of dyslexia adopted by the International Dyslexia Association (IDA) on November 12, 2002. Since that time, a substantial amount of research on dyslexia and word-level reading difficulties has been conducted. What follows addresses a number of points germane to the existing definition, discussing issues that, in light of the current state of knowledge, suggest the need for changes and extensions in IDA documents. |
