Description
Summary:Because the wish is unacceptable to the conscious mind, it is disguised to pass the alledged censor of the superego; the disguising is created through various dreamwork devices such as condensation, displacement and secondary revision. Eberwein's survey of dream theories and relevant film theories is quite broad, just touching on dominant points, while infant psychology and the analysis of film "dreams" are much more lengthy and detailed. [...]in this context, further details of EEG studies of hypnagogic imagery and reverie states might be illuminating, because these "daylight dreams" might have more correspondence to the "waking dream" of film viewing than do night-time dreams. [...]Eberwein's theory raises issues of psychosexual dominance.
