Summary:The mastery of English language at present constitutes a premise for the integral formation of the university student. Its learning facilitates independent study, research and cultivates the future professional for his working life. The present article exposes the pedagogical experience on the diagnosis of the conditions, so that the student of the fifth to the eighth semester of the careers of Hospitality and Tourism and Social Communication of the Technical University of Babahoyo, Quevedo Extension, achieves the development of the necessary skills in the process of learning the English language by determining individual needs and potentialities as well as his attention in the university educational teaching context.
