Summary: | A report is presented of topics related to the International Center for African Music and Dance (ICAMD) at the University of Ghana. Topics include the development of a library and archive, the establishment of activities and programs in which students may participate in further research, the importance of the Center's growth as a primary source for research and development, and the Center's ability to fulfill its international mission by participating in collaborative inter-Africa research projects. The ICAMD began its research into African music in 1952, and chiefly emphasizes musicology as a research discipline and catalyst for development. |
