Description
Summary:How does an African American feminist psychologist develop and promote an interdisciplinary sexuality course placing the experiences of African American women at the center of analysis while simultaneously maintaining its relevance to all students? This article provides answers by explaining how a course's title, perspective, structure, and assignments were developed in ways that attracted students in the social sciences, humanities, women's studies, and African American studies. Furthermore, the course was taught at a state institution in a rural setting with approximately 40,000 students, 12 percent of whom are minorities and students of color. (Contains 1 note.)
