Summary: | This article deals with the first novel by the Cuban author Wendy Guerra, Todos se van (2006), taking it as an example toanalyze some aspects of the complex relationship between diary writing (this is the form the author gives to her text) and narrative fiction. In this case, it is particularly important the autofictional orientation of the novel (the main character shares many traits with the author), which is considered a strategy for the construction of a feminine identity that transcends a mere autobiographical involvement. This paper, then, enquires into the dialectic set among a certain textual genre (the diary-novel) and the construction of a gender identity from the fiction. |
