Description
Summary:[Display omitted] •High temperature SmNbO4 phase was synthetized at room temperature.•The high temperature phase is stable at least 800 °C.•A single SmNbO4 nanostructured phase was obtained with annealing at 1000 °C. A nanostructured mixture of two SmNbO4 polymorphs, one monoclinic and other tetragonal, was synthesized by mechanical alloying. It was the first time that the tetragonal structure was synthesized at low temperature. Both polymorphs are stable in high temperatures. A single monoclinic phase with nanometric crystallites was obtained after annealing at 1000 °C.
