Summary: | In 1989 Roger Sutton accepted a partnership in Leigh Park (then one of Europe’s biggest council estates), fully aware that he would work harder and earn less than many GPs. For chronically and terminally ill patients, he was a staunch, unflinching source of medical and practical help, of emotional support, of spiritual strength, and of love. When the partners agreed to grant each other sabbatical leave in rotation, having sworn us to secrecy, Roger used one of his breaks to donate a kidney to an unknown recipient. |
