Heparin-induced thrombocytopenia: Pathogenesis, management, and prevention
Several newer anticoagulants have been used for the management of heparin-induced thrombocytopenia in patients who still require anticoagulation. Two of these agents, the direct thrombin inhibitors lepirudin and argatroban, have been approved by the FDA for HIT management.
