Overview of the fluoroquinolones: Focus on moxifloxacin

An overview of the antibiotics known as fluoroquinolones, with a focus on moxifloxacin, is presented. The recent approval of an intravenous formulation of moxifloxacin will now allow treatment of very ill hospitalized patients with respiratory or skin infections.
