Summary: | There are various techniques for water purification but solar still is the cheapest and beneficial one. Solar stills are easy to construct, and the material is readily available. Knowing that the productivity and efficiency of the conventional solar still is too low has led the researchers to develop new techniques and advancements. This Numerical study investigates the influence of constant and variable temperature difference on condensing and evaporating surfaces with and without baffle on single slope solar still. Besides this, a sensitive analysis was carried out on the positioning of baffle at 1/3rd, 1/2nd and 2/3rd from the left side of still. The flow structure, velocity contours with magnitude, vorticity magnitude and temperature contours have been plotted. The convection heat transfer has been estimated which are tabulated and plotted against Rayleigh number to identify favorable and adverse flow pattern to optimize the productivity of the solar still. |
