Artificial Incubation and Hand-Rearing of Loggerhead Shrikes

The development of artificial incubation and hand-rearing techniques for eggs and chicks removed from nesting wild San Clemente loggerhead shrikes was studied by using a nonendangered surrogate subspecies as an experimental model. The goals and results of the program are discussed.
