Emergency room administration of eptifibatide before primary angioplasty for ST elevation acute myocardial infarction and its effect on baseline coronary flow and procedure outcomes

Baseline coronary flow and procedural outcomes before primary angioplasty were compared in 30 consecutive patients treated in the emergency room with eptifibatide and 30 matched control patients who underwent primary angioplasty with only glycoprotein IIb/IIIa inhibitors at the time of angioplasty....

Description
Summary:Baseline coronary flow and procedural outcomes before primary angioplasty were compared in 30 consecutive patients treated in the emergency room with eptifibatide and 30 matched control patients who underwent primary angioplasty with only glycoprotein IIb/IIIa inhibitors at the time of angioplasty. Baseline coronary flow was significantly improved and time from baseline angiography to initial balloon inflation was significantly less for patients who received early eptifibatide treatment.
