Summary:We report the case of a patient who was treated with amiodarone, developed an acute pneumonitis within 2 weeks, and succumbed to fatal pulmonary fibrosis despite treatment with corticosteriods. As the use of amiodarone expands, all physicians must be aware of the potential for amiodarone-related pulmonary (and otehr) toxicity and be aware of its nonspecific presentations.
