Summary:Objective:The objective of this study was to elucidate the pattern of drug utilization in cardiovascular patients at a tertiary care hospital. Methods: It is a prospective-observational study in the period of Six month in tertiary care hospital in Andhra pradesh, India. Among 200 patients were included Carried and ethical approval was also obtained; the study was followed inclusion and exclusion criteria's. Results and Discussion: The highest number of male patients have seen in the gender distribution and age group is > 60(37%) years. In the estimation of Diagnosis and co-morbidities among the 200 cases, highest is 71(35%) people are suffering from HTN+CAD+DM. The maximum risk factors of patients 82(41%) have HTN+DM. On analysis highest number of patients, 190 are having Polypharmacy and Distribution of systemic medication of antihypertensive drugs. Assessment of special laboratory investigations, we found that high rate in known cases of 85(42.5%) prescription was followed the WHO drug core indications. Conclusion: In our study the prevalence of hypertension in system of cardiovascular diseases were high. Antihypertensive and antidiabetic drugs were used more frequently. Rational therapy was the optimal level; In addition, regular studies are required to progress management stratagem and quality of life of patients.
