Description
Summary:Although competitive advantage is a business concept that helps an organisation outperform its competitors, this concept can be usefully applied to non-profit organisations such as museums since each possesses unique advantages. The research objective is to investigate all relevant stakeholders' roles as a competitive advantage in the formulation of antiquity museums' strategies in Egypt. The author addresses three main stakeholder groups: visitors, governing and managing bodies, and community members. Visiting stakeholders' interests and roles in creating a competitive advantage are explored via questionnaires; semi-structured interviews are carried out with governing and community stakeholders groups; and an explanation of each unique role is clarified. Moreover, each stakeholder role that is in need of improvement is highlighted. Finally, stakeholders' proposals to improve their role in achieving a better competitive advantage are presented.
